A. Honestly, I've tried so many sites for this sort of thing and the only time I've ever had any decent amount of success is to go to Google and search "songs about (love, hate, grief, whatever)" and get my results from them.

A. In my business class, we were assigned to give an informative speech about anything we wanted. So first I started by thinking about things that I knew alot about. When that didn't work, I talked about things that I loved, liked and things I couldn't live without. I mean come on who knows you more than you know yourself.

Q. Can anyone help me think of a topic for an essay on the Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King? I have to write an essay based on the short story. Can anyone think of anything good?

A. Can you give any more information on the type of essay? Is it a research essay? Comparative? Anything? If it's just general, I would recommend a character analysis of Andy. There is a lot to his character to work with. You could also do an analysis on the themes of the novel. More or less, the value of an education, patience, friendships... I'll check back later if you leave any comments, but for now, that's what i would recommend. Good luck!

What is the poem Daddy (by Sylvia Plath) about and how does it relate to the topic of family ? Please Help!!?
Q. I need to know how Daddy by Sylvia Plath is related to the topic of family. It would be very appreciated if techniques of how it shows the theme of family were mentioned as well. Thanks
Asked by violet.sadi - Tue Sep 8 06:46:03 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. To me this poem displays Sylvia's emotions and feelings towards her Father. She feels frustrated and there is a lack of communication between Father and daughter. She has been hurt, betrayed, and I think he has not cared for her as a child. For all we know he may have abused her, 'I have been so scared of you' and so she hates him... 'Sorry I had to kill you.' This poem has German backgrounds, note the use of the term 'swastika' instead of God and the reference to the Jews 'Chaffing me of like a Jew.' In Nazi Germany, Germans hated Jews. This poem shows the feelings between families that suffer from lack of interaction and selfishness and do not have good foundations. Hope this helps! :-)

Q. Hey people this is my debate topic and I am going against it stating that the players are not made stars by the media so please if you all have any points or ideas on which I can build my debate please post.I really need your help.Thank you.

A. If the media were non-existant, there would still be stars. When you go to a basketball game, and you see someone scoring a lot of points, you are naturally curious about who that player is, and you want to know more about him. Also, there were stars before the media was as prevelant as it is today. Babe Ruth, JIm Thorpe, etc.

what is the math topic that involves adding large numbers. By adding or subtracting the ones from the tens?
Q. I was looking for a research topic and now I can't find it. I think it started with a Z but I could be completely wrong. It also was an ancient topic that is not really talk today.
Asked by lookaround - Mon Oct 26 16:36:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I don't know if it has a name per se, but I know there are lots of tricks for doing arithmetic with large numbers mentally. You might want to search for Professor Benjamin at Harvey Mudd college. He is famous in the math world for what he dubs "mathemagics". Squaring 5 digit numbers in his head, etc. If you want a math research project, I highly recommend the Fibonacci sequence. If you want something ancient, you could also study unit fractions; the Egyptians were quite fond of them and proved some interesting facts about them.
