The World Wide Web, abbreviated as WWW and commonly known as The Web, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents contained on the Internet. With a web browser, one can view web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia and navigate between them by using hyperlinks. Using concepts from earlier hypertext systems, English engineer and computer scientist Sir Tim Berners Lee, now the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium, wrote a proposal in March 1989 for what would eventually become the World Wide Web. He was later joined by Belgian computer scientist Robert Cailliau while both were working at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1990, they proposed using "HyperText [...] to link and access information of various kinds as a web of nodes in which the user can browse at will", and released that web in December. "The World-Wide Web (W3) was developed to be a pool of human knowledge, which would allow collaborators in remote sites to share their ideas and all aspects of a common project." If two projects are independently created, rather than have a central figure make the changes, the two bodies of information could form into one cohesive piece of work. From Wikipedia under the

I've been looking for a laptop lately but i only want it to surf the web. So buying it seems kind of wastefull. So I was wondering if theres any portable devices that are mainly for web surfing? Asked by Cesar G - Fri Jul 20 18:10:05 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Other than a phone or pda, a laptop is about the only thing I can think of. If web surfing is all you are interested in, and cost is an issue, go to ebay and purchase a used laptop. a toshiba tecra 8000, as you can see, this machine can be found in working condition for under $50. plug in a $30 PCMCIA wi-fi card and you got a great little machine for web-surfing and e-mail. I've had one of these machines for a couple of years now, and it still runs great., even with preschoolers banging away on it all the time. It was a real durable model, it's surprising how cheap they are. Answered by waycar111 - Fri Jul 20 18:36:32 2007 Could your iPhone 3G get a virus when surfing the web? Q. Answered by ~ karen ~ - Mon Jul 19 17:29:29 2010 Why doesn't my audio work when surfing the web?
Q. Sometimes when surfing the web and watching youtube, the audio will suddenly turn silent for the web browser. I'll then switch from Mozilla Firefox to IE 7 and then I'll have the same problem. I've tried both earphones and speakers and the audio is still doesn't come on. However, if I play music using windows media player, I can still hear it. Anyone has any ideas how to fix my problem? Asked by ianyapxw - Thu Apr 30 09:36:48 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you are using MS Vista, open the Volume Mixer (open the volume icon in your system tray and then click on Mixer) and make sure that all the programs in the list aren't muted and that they have proper volume level.
